Bruntwood, one of the leading property companies in the North of England, approached Contact One to refurbish a dated office space and transform it into a modern Cat A suite, ready for future tenants. The objective was to create a clean, contemporary environment while retaining the character features of the original building.
The project required a full strip-out of the existing office space, renovation of the ceiling, installation of an exposed HVAC system and linear light fittings. The focus was on creating a high-specification finish that aligned with Bruntwood’s vision while maintaining some of the building’s original architectural elements.
The project was completed over 12 weeks, following a structured approach to meet Bruntwood’s design brief. We received a design pack, which we carefully interpreted and collaborated on with the client to match their design intentions.
During the fit-out, unforeseen challenges arose, particularly concerning the existing ceiling and beams. To keep the project on schedule, we adjusted the scope of the work and increased labour resources, ensuring we met the agreed timeline without compromising on quality.
A standout feature of this fit-out was the preservation of key original elements, such as a feature wall tiled with old glazed tiles. This added a distinctive character to the space while aligning with the modern aesthetic.
The completed space successfully met Bruntwood’s initial goals, delivering a transformed office that combined functionality with a refined aesthetic. The high-quality finishes and attention to detail ensured a professional, polished workspace, ready for future tenants.
