Contact One was commissioned to deliver a Category A fit-out within a building undergoing a full refurbishment on behalf of Peak, a Manchester-based AI software company.
The key requirement was to create the interior work to be entirely demountable and fully reusable, supporting the client’s future relocation plans and minimising waste as they repurpose materials and fit-out elements in a new space.
The fit-out was completed over a 16-week duration. We collaborated with Sheila Bird and Peak, taking their design vision and developing it into a fully detailed plan for construction. Design adjustments were incorporated during the build, and we advised on practical solutions to achieve a fully reusable installation.
The works took place while another contractor carried out extensive refurbishment to the building. This required precise coordination with multiple teams and careful scheduling due to limited access. All elements were designed for future use - flooring was laid using a magnetic system, bespoke joinery was produced in modular sections for easy dismantling, and movable pod meeting rooms were installed to suit the adaptable layout.
The fit-out was delivered in line with the intended design, translating the original concept into a finished space that met the project brief in full. The result reflected a high standard of workmanship, with precise detailing and well-executed finishes throughout. The completed environment was designed for versatility, with every element installed to allow for full reuse in a future location, providing a space that will adapt to the client’s changing needs.
